The noted actor of high profile with nearly 50 films as cop in his 200 plus films Saikumar, dialogue king and terrific in his performance has decided to settle down in Bagepalli (border area of Karnataka) to contest from BJP ticket in 2018 elections to state Assembly.

Saikumar in a chat with a few media persons on Monday at BGS Medical Science board room firmly stated that the situation is right for him now to settle in his mother place Bagepalli. I have contested in 2008 elections. I could not succeed. Now my life is settled in one way. I got married my daughter to a businessman in Belgaum. She is doing MS in Pediatrics, my son Adi is popular hero, he is making debut in Kannada in ‘Karthikeyan’ remake. I have no commitments in the family front. I have set up a house in Bagepalli to live with the people and do something for the people. That is my Thaayi Nadu!

For two years I will work at grass root level in Bagepalli and know every problem of the people to give solution. What I wanted to do as IAS officer in case I had not become an actor – as elected representative I would like to work for people and BJP is my party. There is already very good wave opines Saikumar.

In the remake film for my son I am not the producer. It is one Mr Srinivas. In the film set for muhurut after August 4, I play a role with two of my brothers Ravishanker and Ayyappa. When my father P Sharma was living we wanted to make with three generations in a film. In ‘Chuttalu Abbayi’ Telugu film I and Adhi have acted. In that film we have used photo of my father and it is also one of the characters in the film.

On the race between brothers Saikumar is extremely happy with the emergence of Ravishanker. It was my mother who wrote the diary that said Ravishanker is very talented than all of us. It is true – he knows dance, music, acting etc. He is getting variety of roles. A strong hero is there in his films so that the film boost up to a different level. It was not like that in my case.

Saikumar remembering the incident of Sudeep calling him for Armugam role says I have politely rejected the role in ‘Kempegowda’ a remake of Singham. I am like ‘Singham’ from Police Story in 1996. I just cannot imagine getting beaten as villain from cops. I think Sudeep was upset. It went to my brother Ravishanker and that was stepping stone of his career. Ravishanker has become very popular and fifty films in five years in Kannada. Around seven films that he was supposed to do come to me is another notable point. They inquire with him and his date not available make them to come to me.

After ‘Rangitaranga’, I am getting more quality films and I have become choosy. In Kannada I have finished around 80 films. The zeal and zoom of films is perfect. Politics is my choice. I hope to make it very strong in politics says Saikumar.
